Memorial Day at the pool
Josh & I are relaxing at the pool for awhile. He's in there somewhere.
I'm not quite sold on the idea of wearing my swimsuit just yet. And I don't think our community deserves it just yet either!
All I can think of is the delicious crockpot full of bacon baked beans that are waiting for us at home, along with Johnny's delicious BBQ!

Doing much better this afternoon
Minnie had a bad day
My poor little Minnie Mouse
The only reason I took this pic is because at this point she was coming out of anethesia and "swimming" with her legs, making funny squeaking noises, acting drunk off her butt and look at her tongue! It got pretty crazy. At this point in the day she was okay. I was more worried about Johnny passing out. He lost all color to his face. He's not one for hospitals....that's putting it mildly.
To make a long story short, Minnie Mouse (who my sister calls "Farah" because of her winged, big, girly, crazy hair) was outside with me. While I chatted with a neighbor she started chewing on grass (and we are thinking some bark) and all of sudden started choking.
A long blade of grass was still stuck down her throat so naturally I pulled it out ~ which the Dr. said made "cuts" in her throat because edges of grass are sharp like knives.
So her throat swelled up and she couldn't breathe. Along with who knows what she was choking on, everything compounded and thank God there are emergency vets. And than God there are American Express cards.
But that was our day. That little Minnie. She had me up from 1-4 am, needing meds and now she is sneezing continuously. I guess she's trying to get something out. If a piece of bark flies out of Farrah's nose, I'll let you know. I'm kinda hoping it will....
......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Josh came home last night. He was supposed to be gone for 2 days, but he and his Army recruiter have to go handle some of Josh's "business" today so that HOPEFULLY on Tuesday we can do this routine all over again. Because I'm not crazy enough. I'm not anxious enough. I'm not GRAY enough.
Thank you American Express cards. Thank you hair dye.

But it concerns this young man.
My heart and my soul.
The boy I love most in the entire world. The boy with Edward Cullen hair.
He's leaving today for 2 days. But not without his gallon of water & a cooler full of healthy snacks!
Hee-hee.
Josh doesn't give up. I love that about him!
But not today. Friday, I promise...fingers crossed. I don't want to jump the gun.
I'll be at home for 2 days wringing my hands & waiting for his return.
GGGgggggrrrrrrrr!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ This is the reason I do everything ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I'll fill you in on Friday. Keep Josh in your prayers, please.

HOOAH!
Josh has made a very important decision today.
We've been on pins and needles for 2 weeks now and today we got THE phone call we've been anxiously waiting for. Can you guess? I'll tell you on Thursday, I don't want to jinx it.....it will be official then....stay tuned!
And a billion thanks go out to my sister and her hubby!
We have logged about a 40 hours on the phone over this...
Sissy, you have been MY ROCK (get it?) -------> hint hint

I want to wish my niece, Miss M, a HAPPY FIELD DAY today!
Have fun, cutie pie! I love you! Hope you beat all the boys in tug of war.
(And don't forget to hit your mommy with a water balloon!)
If you repeat this I'll plead the 5th ammendment.
Don't worry, you'll learn about the 5th someday...
It's a good one, hee-hee. Especially on field day.
Have the time of your life you precious little thing xoxo
Happy Friday everyone! I won't be blogging over the weekend ~ I plan on a Friday night BBQ complete with margaritas with my Johnny (J has a date), a relaxing family day on Saturday with both my boys, hopefully catching a movie (Iron Man 2 or a Chick Flick ~ who will win?) then out to eat, and going to a jewelry party with Mama Kay on Sunday. I know.....just what I needed....jewelry. Shoot me.
See ya on Monday, be safe!!
AFTER...................
Remember how my kitchen lighting was before:
Don't. Get. Me. Started.
Fluorescent light box courtesy of the Exxon gas station.
Another look....
Different view...
That's Tyler. I like Tyler. He was kind, handsome, entertaining and BEST of all....
....he knew how to remove one of the ugliest ceiling fans ever. He's my new hero.
And he knew how to hang my pretty new light fixture over where my round table will be.
AAAAaaannnd.....he took down my fluorescent light box! I'm going to have a song written about him.
This is Mr. Bill....who's kinda in the way of my camera. Achem....excuuuuuse me.
I just threw this in the mix because Piper is cute and I love her.
So, back to Mr. Bill. He's putting 5" pasties on my ceiling.
They are so that Mr. Bill will know where to cut the drywall for my can lights.
See? Like that.
And that. There's my first light!
And the random hook is gone! Tyler is amazing, isn't he? Johnny? Isn't he?
YES! It works! No fire! We're making progress.
Time to get the rest of those can lights in. C'mon. I'm anxious.
They're finished!!
And he said, "Let there be light." That's a famous quote from Mr. Bill.
The lights really warmed the entire room. My cabinets are golden now, not green.
So are my floors and the countertops glow. I wish I'd have done this years ago.
Tyler & Mr. Bill also gave me separate dimmer switches so that I can create ambiance.
Speaking of....
And this is how it ended up. Everything crammed in the dining room. Even my kitchen island. Hhhmmmm.....looks like I could use better lighting out here too..... DOH!
So this coming Wednesday I have a dry wall repair man coming to fix the holes and paint the ceiling a crisp new white. That will really brighten things up and complete the project once and for all.
I could't be happier with the way things turned out and I will never show Johnny the invoice. There are some things a man should never see. Keeps a smile on his face. On his "not green anymore face." On his "warm new lighting" face. See how that works? (He loves the lighting, too).
